Through an educational overview of the mechanics of PPLI, as well as detailed case studies, this course will provide insight on utilizing PPLI as an advanced planning tool within a sophisticated wealth and estate planning context. The presentation will examine the legal, tax, and regulatory framework governing PPLI, including life insurance qualification requirements, diversification rules, investor control considerations, and relevant fiduciary duties. Participants will also explore common structuring approaches, governance and compliance issues, and the interaction of PPLI with trusts and alternative investments.
The program is designed to assist participants in identifying potential issues and risks with a focus on best practices for advising clients on the appropriateness of PPLI relative to their current situation and stated goals. This course is educational in nature and does not promote specific products or providers.
